SHINING A LIGHT ON OUR PAPER TOWEL SUSTAINABILITY EFFORT
We believe in finding smarter ways to brighten the everyday — and making sustainable manufacturing choices seems like an especially bright idea to us. That’s why we’re doing our part to responsibly create paper towels and protect our natural resources.
Here’s just a few ways we’re making this happen:
ONE TREE IS REGROWN FOR EVERY TREE USED
We play an ongoing role in keeping forests as forests—ensuring that they continue to help protect air and water quality, supply important habitat for wildlife and offer recreational opportunities that we all can enjoy.
SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY INITIATIVE® (SFI®) CERTIFIED SOURCING.
This third-party certification means the wood we use is legally sourced and we use trained loggers who follow best practices for preserving biodiversity and water quality.
OUR PAPER TOWELS ARE COMPOSTABLE
We encourage you to compost your Sparkle® Paper Towels in your home/backyard compost piles or at a commercial composting facility in your area. Just remember not to compost paper towels soaked in cleaning products as they can kill the microorganisms that make the composting process take place. Click here to find a commercial composting facility in your area.
WE USE RECYCLED FIBER TO MAKE PAPER TOWELS.
Did you know that the Sparkle® brand uses up to 37,000 tons of recovered office paper that might otherwise end up in a landfill to help make our paper towels instead? That’s equal to about 6.1 billion sheets of office paper every year!
PLASTIC WRAPPING IS STORE DROP-OFF RECYCLABLE
Did you know the plastic packaging used to wrap our products is Store Drop-off recyclable? Just take it to any retail store that collects plastic grocery bags for recycling. Click here for more information about recycling near you.
